Ann McCain

Chief of Staff

Ann McCain has successfully managed teams and individuals for more than 25 years by focusing on what all employees crave: high quality and realizable communication that builds trust, laying the foundation for high-performing teams. She is an adept communicator and collaborative leader with experience managing teams in public affairs, non-profit, political, business, and professional services sectors. Ann is a relationship builder and problem solver with a deep commitment to advancing on business priorities by strengthening culture and developing talent. 

Ann joined Strategic Elements in 2022 after three years with American Clean Power Association where she served as Senior Director of Advocacy, leading ACP’s state coalitions program and national grassroots network in support of clean energy industry priorities.  

Ann’s professional experience began on Capitol Hill working for Members of Congress and on a presidential campaign during the New Hampshire primary. She applied her political work to communications and marketing positions with both nonprofits and businesses, eventually returning to Washington, D.C. to build a ten-year career with one of the largest independent public affairs firms in the country. Her expertise includes leading grassroots field campaigns impacting federal, state, and local policy and managing public affairs field operatives from all fifty states.   

In 2015, she launched McCain Strategies, a consulting firm offering public affairs support, as well as communications and management strategies for the workplace, including helping individuals and organizations successfully navigate the multigenerational workplace.  

Ann graduated with a B.A. in History from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She lives in Washington, D.C.
