Strategic Shifts | Meet The First Generation Raised on AI

WELCOME

A new generation is taking the reins. Meta and X are rolling out new tools, while AI is gaining traction in the C-Suite. Here’s what you need to know.

Gen Alpha Has Entered the Chat

As the newest generation comes of age, they are making headway in the world of digital strategy. Understanding Gen Alpha’s technological preferences is critical, as they are well on their way to becoming the largest generation

Who is Gen Alpha?

Starting in 2010, this generation’s members range from toddlers to teens. The parents of this generation are primarily Millennials, the first digital natives. As with every generation, Gen Alpha is gaining access to more technology at a younger age. In fact, 65% of Gen Alpha’s parents say that technology has positively impacted their children. This technology makes learning more efficient and broadens access to new ideas.

Bridging Gen Gaps

Millennials grew up with the internet, Gen Z grew up with the rise of mobile phones and social media, and with the recent emergence of AI, Gen Alpha is growing up with all of these and more. They prefer short-form content the most of any generation. As digital natives, Gen Z and millennials could browse the web for ideas; with AI, Gen Alpha can generate them.

AI Innovations

Additionally, since AI can make tasks more efficient than past methods, they may spend less time online. Also, compared with Gen Z, they use technology as a tool rather than an escape from reality. AI can also be used to connect with and understand Gen Alpha, providing data at everyone’s fingertips. It can even be utilized (with caution) to help guide content for them and gain better insights into their interests. Gen Alpha’s AI fluency will revolutionize personalization, both for them and eventually from them once they enter the workforce.

Scrolling Smarter

With more children than ever spending time on the internet, Gen Alpha is emerging as a dominant force. This generation values influencer marketing, viewing it as the most authentic. Micro-influencers and user-generated content campaigns strongly resonate with them. They also favor short-form videos on social media that immediately capture their attention. YouTube is Gen Alpha’s preferred platform, with them using it twice as often as any other social platform to watch their favorite creators. TikTok ranks second, followed closely by Instagram and Snapchat. Content creators influence Gen Alpha from a young age, emphasizing personal branding.

Understanding the youngest generation online is essential for staying current in the ever-changing digital world. As Gen Alpha continues to grow, keeping up with them remains vital.

Meta’s New Update Puts You in The Director’s Seat
Video is a trusted method to market businesses on social media, especially via Meta’s Reels and video hosting options, which are now key in B2B advertising. Meta is upgrading its video tools to be more feature-rich and user-friendly, including a Facebook Reels tab, full-screen videos, and easier posting across sections, boosting Meta’s video capabilities.

At SE, we take a comprehensive approach to strategy. If you’re looking to maximize Meta’s potential, consider scheduling a meeting to get started.

C-Suites Significant AI Adoption

AI has sparked excitement and panic, created jobs, and caused job losses. One key message, however, emerges from all the controversy. At the C-suite level, AI is extremely important. According to LinkedIn’s Pressroom, C-suite executives are three times more likely to mention AI literacy or other AI specializations in their profiles than they were just two years ago. Additionally, leaders and executives are approximately 20% more likely than non-executives to include AI literacy in their profiles. If you’re aiming for a top position, demonstrating AI knowledge appears to be a valuable asset.

Lights, Camera, Profit: How Video Can Help You

Today, information is increasingly concise and easy to digest. Large, lengthy blogs are out; short, quick, and digestible videos are in. Marketing in the business world moves at a rapid pace. Your company needs to stay ahead of the curve to survive, and a great way to do this is by using video. Roughly two-thirds of B2B marketers worldwide agree and fear that if they aren’t investing in video now, they WILL lose out to the competition.

Credit, Trading, and Investing, OH MY

After ongoing updates and overhauls to X since Elon’s acquisition of the platform in 2022, X makes another push toward becoming a “super app.” With X’s rapidly increasing feature set, users are always guessing what X’s next move will be as a platform. The newest features being added are focused on finances, with X CEO Linda Yaccarino teasing the possibility of credit/debit cards and options for trading and investing within the app.

New Chat Encryption Feature, XChat

X is rolling out a new chat feature with “Bitcoin-style” encryption for messages and files sent, as well as the ability to send vanishing messages. Encrypted audio and video calling will also be available. A full release date is yet to be revealed, but it is available to beta testers and X Premium users.
